Strolling down memory lane
Newspaper Comics 😍
I loved reading these comics in the newspaper. My favorite was probably Rose is Rose.
Jax
If I told you I played this game everyday of my childhood would you believe me? I'd gotten so good I could go from 1 to 10 without even dropping them. Talk about quality motor skills 😎
Next up is The lovely nails that started it all 😍
Looking back at this tells me I was meant to be a girly girl from the beginning. No one could tell me anything when I stuck these nails on, I was the queen of the ball!
Avon 🛀
I miss these products so much. They had everyone in the house smelling sooooo good 😍 My ultimate favorite were the body powders. I can just smell it through the pictures 😂 I also loved the charm soaps. My sister and I would purposefully melt them in extremely hot water "if you grow up in the projects then you already know lol" to get the charm necklace out. Those were awesome times!!!
Next up: Flip phones and flip phone cases...
The best feeling ever was clapping this bad boy down in a rude person's face. Talk about the ultimate personalizations. No one's phone was the same. From cool cases, to free ringtones, awesome ring backs, and free wallpapers our options were endless. You think texting on a smartphone is cool? Try going head to head with a full qwerty texter. You'll lose miserably every time. Not to mention that it fit perfectly in your front, side, and rear pocket with room to spare. Pocket dialing was not something we had to worry about ever, and to top it all off it was practically indestructible. Drops on the ground did no damage to your phone. Just pick back up and continue using it as usual.
Candy 😍
What else can I say. It's the best candy ever, it needs no other explanation.
Up next: Gigapets
I never had one myself but I definitely remember this toy. It was very popular during my childhood and many kids in the neighborhood had this toy.
YOYO!!!
Does anyone else remember that kid from the yoyo commercial because I definitely do. He knew all the tricks from walking the dog to many more. But my favorite would have to be the light up yoyo. You mean to tell me that I can play with this toy in the dark, what's not to love 😌
Uno Cards
Draw 2, draw 4, draw 6, draw 8. Yes I was that kind of uno player. My husband and I still play this game today. Not just for nostalgia reasons but because we both still enjoy playing it. I had to find the older uno cards to capture that nostalgic feeling lol. Everyday during recess in the 5th grade a game of uno was played. I didn't always win but I didn't care. Just being able to hangout with my friends was the real treat.
PIKACHU PILLOW!!!!! 😍🥳
My absolute favorite item of my childhood was this giant pikachu pillow. I loved it so much I took it every where with me. Walk to the corner store, it's coming with me. Trips to Kmart, you guessed it, it's coming with me. Birthday parties, Walmart runs, grocery shopping I took this pillow with me, and I never went to sleep without it.
